Happy Christmas to all readers! See you again in the New Year.
Renderosity Christmas give-away, Week 4. Including a nice mini-moto vehicle.
Rudy Donk Character. Free Morphs and Textures for 3D Universe’s Toon Donkey, “plus a set of antlers and a collar prop to finish off the whole Santa’s reindeer look”.

New semi-toon and unusual standaloneDAZ/Poser characters are also welcome, and yet another has just been released. Shtirlec is your typical parodic brutish toon Nazi from the 1930s and 40s…

The character’s strange name appears to be a straight English translation of ШТЫРЛИЦ. This was an old-school point-and-click comedy videogame series which — while hugely popular in Russia — had a type of humour only Russians could understand. The game appears to have involved a 1945 Soviet Russian spy dressing up as a Nazi (as was historically done, see the docu-drama movie 17 Moments of Spring), in order to trick a bunch of buffoon Nazis and steal Hitler’s gold…

For this reason, I’m guessing it might not be advisable to use the character for commercial purposes?
If you need a suitable podium for a comedy parody of some 20th century paranoid authoritarian ranting, then there’s a free one over on ShareCG. I guess you could also transform Shtirlec into a socialist thug pretty easily too, by turning his shirt red and adding a few red stars.
Look at My Hair! 1.0 has been released and is live now on the DAZ Store. 12 months in development, the plugin aims to provide DAZ Studio 4.5 users with the tools…
“to create hair and fur for all the figures and objects he/she desires.”
…and also to easily style and cut that hair. Looks fabulous, but I’d first like to see a step-by-step tutorial which would let me determine how fiddly it is to apply, plus a comparison table of render times in a standard lighting setup.

Pantomime outfits for Sam, “Pirate” and “Peter Pan”. Plus “Wendy” for Sadie.

Stonemason has three new “evil genius HQ” building sets for DAZ/Poser. His Planet Alpine base and its Planet Lava add-on have been out for a few weeks now. But now there’s also a more tropical base, called Utopia Labs. Perfect from your James Bond-ish villains, or as part of a Sky Captain / S.H.I.E.L.D.-like flying base…

No doubt someone will also make a cool base unit for Utopia Labs to get it flying, full of turbo-rotors and the like…

Lyne’s free standalone Roadrunner bird with poses. “Beep Beep!”

Lyne’s superb Millenium Cat textures for the DAZ/Poser Millennium Cat.
